How to Regrow Brows

Nowadays, full, thick, feathered eyebrows are all the rage. This brow style lifts your whole face and makes you look sleek, polished, and effortlessly put-together.

But it wasn’t always this way. There was a time not that long ago when we were all plucking our eyebrows to death to get that perfect Christina Aguilera pencil arch. (Take us back to the Dirrty era!)

Though it was trendy at the time, most of us look back on those barely-there hairs and admit we had some serious brow-blindness. Thick, laminated eyebrows are definitely the superior look.

That said, full brows aren’t easy to come by for everyone. Whether it’s because of aging, a medical condition, genetics, or all those years tweezing your heart out to look like all the Y2K icons, sometimes getting eyebrows to grow back is HARD.

Luckily, we’re here to help. Here’s how to get the thick, luscious brows:

Eyebrow hairs, like the hair on your head, go through a natural growth cycle. So, no miracle serum will make your brows grow back full and fluffy overnight. (Unless you get your hands on some of Wonka’s Hair Toffee, at least!)

But with the right strategy and a little patience, you can get your brows back, and we’re here to tell you how.

We’ll talk all things brow regrowth, timelines, and techniques below. And if you want to extend those benefits even further, check out “How to Get Snatched Brows with Lindsay Merrell” next.

Factors That Affect Eyebrow Growth

Do Eyebrows Grow Back?

Yes, eyebrows do grow back, even after overplucking or shaving. As long as the hair follicle stays healthy, eyebrow regrowth is totally possible. Just don’t expect it overnight—brows grow in cycles, so it can take weeks or even months to see fuller results.

A few key factors affect eyebrow regrowth, including:

  • Frequency of overplucking: Repeated tweezing can weaken or damage hair follicles, slowing growth or leading to eyebrow hair loss.

  • Underlying skin conditions: Inflammation from conditions like eczema or dermatitis can disrupt the follicle and interfere with healthy growth.

  • Age and hormone levels: Hormonal shifts (like changes in estrogen or thyroid function) and natural aging can slow hair growth and make brows appear thinner.

  • Nutrient intake: Low levels of key nutrients like iron, zinc, and biotin can impact hair strength and slow regrowth.

  • Certain medications: Some prescriptions can affect the hair growth cycle, leading to slower regrowth or increased shedding.

How Long Do Eyebrows Take to Grow Back?

Eyebrow regrowth takes time because brow hairs grow in cycles. Most people start to see early growth within 4 to 6 weeks, especially if the follicles are still healthy.

From there, brows typically look fuller around 3 to 4 months as more hairs grow in and fill out the shape. In some cases, especially after long-term overplucking or eyebrow hair loss, complete regrowth can take up to 6 months or longer.

How to Grow Eyebrows Back

Step One: Stop overplucking and let your brows grow out.

This first step is so important: STOP plucking your eyebrows. They may look a bit unruly for a few weeks while the hair grows back, but let it happen. To get full eyebrows, you’ll need every strand you can get.

Step Two: Address nutrient deficiencies.

If your body is low on key nutrients, your brows aren’t a priority. Hair growth needs things like iron, zinc, biotin, and protein. So, when you’re deficient, regrowth slows way down, and eyebrow hair loss becomes more common. Focus on eating real, nutrient-dense foods and supporting your body from the inside out to see real eyebrow regrowth.

Step Three: Avoid harsh makeup removal products around your brows.

Overdoing it with eyebrow pencil or pomade can clog your hair follicles and slow regrowth. On top of that, harsh makeup removers can irritate the delicate skin around your brows. This results in disrupted follicles, dryness, and, over time, even more eyebrow hair loss. Keep makeup minimal and be gentle when removing it while your brows recover.

Step Four: Condition your brows as you would the rest of your hair.

When you’re doing your everything shower, make sure you’re conditioning your brows along with the rest of your hair. Often, our eyebrow care only includes makeup remover or soaps, which can be dehydrating without conditioner to replenish the oils. But for healthy regrowth, we need that moist, healthy follicle environment!

Step Five: Use The Skinny Confidential Brow Peptides.

So far, you’re probably thinking you can’t have the best of both worlds: you can’t style your brows and promote regrowth. But actually, you can! Enter: The Skinny Confidential Brow Peptides

Our non-toxic brow serum combines growth peptides with castor oil for noticeable eyebrow regrowth in as little as weeks. On top of that, it also provides just enough hold to groom and shape your brows. In other words, you no longer have to choose between styling and growth.

So, ditch all your other eyebrow products and replace them with TSC Brow Peptides. It’s your ticket to those enviable Cara Delevingne and Lily Collins full, feathered brows.

Step Six: Exfoliate the brow area 13 times per week.

Just like your scalp, your brow area can build up dead skin, oil, and product residue that blocks healthy growth. Gently exfoliating 1 to 3 times per week helps keep follicles clear and creates a better environment for eyebrow regrowth. Use a soft exfoliant and keep it light—you don’t want to irritate the skin.

Step Seven: Brush and train your brows daily.

If you want that full, feathered look, you have to train your brow hairs. Use the TSC Brow Peptides and the included spoolie to brush them up and outward every day. Over time, this helps refine your brow shape, making them look fuller and more polished—even while they’re still growing in.

Step Eight: Massage the brow area to stimulate circulation.

We talk all about lymphatic drainage massages and sculpting your jaw, but massaging the brow area is just as important. The mechanical stimulation increases blood circulation to the follicles, delivering a boost of oxygen and nutrients. Over time, this helps promote thicker regrowth and even wakes up dormant follicles! Plus, it’s super relaxing—which is just a natural bonus.

Step Nine: Trim only when you absolutely need to.

As your brows start to grow out again, you may see some particularly unruly hairs. If you absolutely have to, trim or pluck them. But try to do everything you can to avoid it. We don’t want to end up back on the MTV red carpet circa 2002 with our barely-there brows.

Step Ten: Be consistent and give it time.

Any hair regrowth cycle takes time. Be patient and stick to your routine. They’ll get there! For more ways to support growth, here’s another guide on how to make eyebrows thicker

Get your brows back with the right products, practices, and patience.

At the end of the day, brow regrowth comes down to patience and consistency. You can’t rush the hair cycle, but you can support it by keeping your follicles healthy and leaving your brows alone long enough to do their thing.

Stick with a simple routine, resist the urge to overpluck, and focus on growth over perfection. Before you know it, you’ll be back to full, natural brows—leaving the tweezers in the past with your roll-on body glitter and concealer lipstick (where they belong).
